World′s most unique monument (the only one of its kind): a monument to a rubbish truck, at 2 Hazoprovidna Street — erected in 2004 by municipal company Kyivspetztrans in gratitude to the city′s sanitation workers.
Ukraine′s first skyscraper: the Ginzburg Building (12 storeys, over 60 m) on Instytutska Street — the tallest building in the Russian Empire and the pre-war Soviet Union. Destroyed in 1941; the Hotel Ukraine now stands on the site.
Tallest modern building: the residential complex at 7 Klovskyi Uzviz — 168 metres tall.
Shortest and widest main street among European capitals: Khreshchatyk — only 1,300 metres long but a full 75 metres wide.
